KRT was founded in 1954. The company’s beginnings centered on the petroleum industry, servicing fuel stations mainly for the major petroleum companies. The company expanded into waste management and environmental services in 1964 necessitating the need for a licensed transfer site.

2005 witnessed significant transformation for KRT; the company changed ownership and an injection of new ideas and life meant a focus on meeting or exceeding both ministry regulations and customer expectations. After dealing with hazardous waste for decades and providing environmental services for over fifty years, the company is well positioned to apply its in-depth knowledge of ministry and safety regulations, logistics management and waste reporting to assist its customers in managing their waste needs.
